Professor Wendy Loretto and Dr Laura Airey recently hosted an event to present the findings of their Scottish Government-funded research on older people in employment.

The event was very well received, with around 60 attendees who represented a wide range of organisations – private & public sector employers, third-sector organisations, universities and Scottish Government. Alongside the Business School presentations of the research findings, other speakers included:

  • Vana Anastasiadou & Lorraine Lee from Scottish Government, presenting an overview of the research policy context;
  • Professor Sarah Vickerstaff from The University of Kent, on behalf of the Uncertain Futures project, asking “What’s happening to retirement?”;
  • Kathryn Stolarek from Lloyds Banking Group, who was discussing the ‘Lloyds Maximise’ scheme, and;
  • Brian Sloan from Age Scotland, on ‘Creating an Age-Friendly Workplace’.
