Founded in 1982 and based in the USA, SIOP is the leading professional society for the science and practice of industrial-organisational (I-O) psychology. To be named a Fellow is a significant achievement, and reflects Ishbel’s exceptional contributions to the field, her dedication to advancing the science and practice of I-O psychology, and her influence on her professional community.

The nomination was instrumental in showcasing Dr. McWha-Hermann's extraordinary accomplishments…and highlighted their significant impact in I-O psychology, and whose research and work have made contributions to tackling global poverty and inequality and developing the field of Humanitarian Work Psychology. It was clear that Dr McWha-Hermann is held in the highest regard by colleagues and peers.
SIOP Fellowship Committee

Ishbel is one of 24 new Fellows elected this year, and the only one from the UK. Being elected requires nomination by an existing SIOP Member or Fellow and endorsement by three more Fellows, followed by a rigorous assessment by the selection committee.

On being admitted as a Fellow, Ishbel said: ‘I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition from SIOP. Having been a member for almost 20 years, I have benefited greatly from the conversations and connections that have come from being part of this incredible community of work and organisational psychologists. I am genuinely on cloud-9 to have my work recognised in this way!’
