The prize is for the academic institution, government body, or supply chain partner making "the biggest contribution to the industry, helping drive progress and innovation, or addressing challenges or standards".
The award recognises a range of activity by the Business School, Edinburgh Innovations, the Edinburgh Futures Institute, and others across the University, such as initiatives focused on staff, students, and industry partners.
The award was collected by Associate Professor Gbenga Ibikunle of the Business School.
Meanwhile, Stephen Ingledew, Chief Executive of FinTech Scotland—a body established with government and industry partners and hosted by Edinbugh Innovations—won the Evangelist award.
After accepting the award on behalf of the University, Gbenga Ibikunle said:
It's great to be recognised for work involving colleagues across the University, supporting the Scottish Fintech community. From PhD projects to global initiatives, we're helping devise solutions and build skills. It's a sector of growing importance and we're determined to play our part.
