The University of Edinburgh Business School recently brought together its long-established climate change and sustainability research centres into a new entity with bigger ambitions – the Centre for Business, Climate Change and Sustainability (B-CCaS).

BCCaS has now announced members of a strategic board who bring considerable expertise and insight from global business, the UN and the public policy arena, and who will help shape the centre’s direction.

Chair of the Board is Mike Wareing CMG, honorary professor at the Business School, former Global CEO of accountancy giant KPMG and former chair of defence firm Cobham. He has worked on homelessness in London and as an envoy for post-war rebuilding and economic development in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Joining as non-executive directors are Barbara Hendrie OBE and Lord Hastings CBE.

Barbara is North American Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Dr Hendrie has over two decades of experience as a senior international diplomat, working for the UK and US governments.

Lord Dr Michael Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE is Chancellor of Regent’s University London; Professor of Leadership at the Stephen R Covey Leadership Centre, Hunstman Business School, Utah State University; and Vice-President of UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, which provides humanitarian and development aid worldwide. Lord Hastings is also former head of public affairs at the BBC.

Director of the Centre for Business, Climate Change and Sustainability, Dr Sarah Ivory, said:
