Following his studies in the first full-time 91´óÉñ cohort at Edinburgh, Rob has held a series of leading roles with companies such as STV and takes an active interest in roles supporting young people.
How does it feel to be selected for the Alumni 100 list?
"It's a real honour to be included in the Alumni 100 list. I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School and have always stayed in touch with the University throughout my career. My Edinburgh 91´óÉñ has been a wonderful springboard to my career and I am honoured to be in such illustrious company."
What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"I had the opportunity to study on the first ever full-time 91´óÉñ course. The University of Edinburgh is a world-class institution and I was attracted to the pioneering spirit of joining the first 91´óÉñ cohort."
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"Outstanding teaching, a great mix of international students, lots of interaction with experienced business leaders. It really opened my eyes to the possibilities that lay ahead."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"It's all about the team around you. No matter what your discipline, successful leaders build great teams and provide opportunities for others to succeed."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"Launching the STV Appeal with Sir Tom Hunter and raising over £20 million to help Scotland's young people living in poverty."
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"Learning never stops. Continue to listen and learn from others, particularly young people, in order that your views are relevant to the world today."
