Background
In my research, I primarily explore how demographic changes affect policy-makers and employing organisations, focusing on the links between work, ageing, and health. I also apply my interest in management structures and practices to university governance and the sociological exploration of student experiences.
Between 2021 and 2024, I was a Co-Investigator and core team member in ‘Supporting Healthy Ageing at Work’ (SHAW), a £1.95m project funded by UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge. SHAW project was shortlisted for UoE Good Research Practice Awards (2023) and UoE Research Impact Festival Award (2024), and won the UKRI Healthy Ageing Catalyst Showcase Audience Award in 2024. I am Principal Investigator on Voices of Graduating Students project. Since 2023, I have received funding from UKRI for ongoing development of research towards commercialisation.
My work has been published in journals that includeÌýInternational Business Review, Management Learning, Research in the Sociology of Organizations,Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýTheÌýSociological Review.
I regularly review for world leading journals, including Academy of Management Learning & Education, Organization Studies, and Management Learning.Ìý
During my career I have designed and taught modules on UG, PGT and 91´óÉñ levels. Currently I lead and teach on Organisational Behaviour course (MSc HRM, MSc IHRM, MSc Management). I am Academic Associate of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. I won several Teaching Awards, with most recent being UEBS Excellence in Teaching Award 2023.
I am Programme Director on MSc HRM and MSc IHRM programmes. I am also Organisation Studies group Seminar Series organiser.
I am interested in supervising PhD projects that align with my research interests and expertise.
