Research Topic
Rethinking well-being at work
Research Summary
My interest lies in unpacking and understanding the role of work and management on employees' experiences of well-being. I'm also interested in the role of organisations in constructing these experiences on a societal level. My research focuses on how the notion of well-being is constructed, and continues to evolve, within workplace as an individualising discourse to promote productivity and efficiency. Currently, I'm doing a critically analysis of work, well-being and management theories that govern well-being practices within organisations as a means of constant productivity enhancement. In doing so, the goal is to gain perspective on well-being as a human experience of health and wellness rather than as a means for organisational productivity.
