Background
Dr. Yizhe Dong, is a ProfessorÌý(Personal Chair) in Banking and Risk AnalyticsÌýat the University of Edinburgh Business School. Prior to joining Edinburgh, he worked at Aberdeen University,ÌýÌýAberystwyth University and Durham University, respectively. He received his PhD from Loughborough University,ÌýMSc and MA from Cardiff University and Nottingham University, and BSc fromÌýSouth China University of Technology.Ìý
He is currently serving asÌýa Joint Editor of theÌýJournal of Chinese Economic and Business StudiesÌýandÌýAssociate Editor of theÌýEuropean Journal of Finance. He also acted asÌýa Guest Editor of theÌýEuropean Journal of Finance,ÌýBritish Accounting Review, Information Systems Frontiers,ÌýJournalÌýof InternationalÌýFinancial Markets,ÌýInstitutionsÌý& Money, Economic Modelling,ÌýChina Economic Review, Emerging Market Finance and Trade,Ìýetc. He served as the 33rdÌýPresident of the Chinese Economic Association (UK/Europe).ÌýÌýHe also received awards for Excellence in Doctoral Supervision and other teaching awards in past years.Ìý
Dong has co-organised a number of international conferences on the themes of:

Research Interests
Yizhe’s main research interests are corporate finance and governance, credit risk assessment,ÌýML/Generative AI/Multimodal LLMÌýforÌýFinance, climate risk and green finance, banking and financial institutions,Ìýand equity valuation. He has published over 30 papers in leading international journals such asÌýNature Food, Journal of Corporate Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, British Journal of Management,ÌýJournal of Financial Stability,ÌýBritish Accounting Review, European Journal of Finance,ÌýJournal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, International Journal of Forecasting, Annals of Operations Research, amongst others.
YizheÌýwelcomes PhD applications from suitably qualified students to undertake the above-mentioned research areas.Ìý
