Katharine is a Lecturer in Service Management and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Business School and Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI).

Within the Business School Katharine is a member of the Strategy Group and the Centre for Service Excellence.

Background

Katharine is interested in the design, delivery and management of public services. In 2017 Katharine was awarded a PhD in Management from the University of Edinburgh. Her Doctoral Research explored the processes that underpin the co-production of public services in the context of community health and social care services for older people in Scotland. Katharine also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (2023) from the University of Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Before moving to Higher Education, Katharine worked in the NHS and social care services in a range of strategic, commissioning and operational management roles. Katharine has also been a Non-Executive Board member in the social housing sector. Earlier in her career Katharine gained an Executive 91�� (2001) from Imperial College, London.

Based upon student feedback Katharine has won the following teaching awards:
