Created to develop students' public speaking, presentation, and pitching skills, the competition uses a mix of alumni expertise and innovative virtual reality technology to help students become more confident when delivering talks and presentations.

A hundred students signed up to be part of the competition and it was great to see so many in attendance at the opening skills development event hosted by New York-based alumna in early October.

Gillian was supported on the night by five of her fellow alumni judges:

We thank them all for taking part.

The focus of the session was 'Pitching Under Pressure', with Gillian sharing stories from her career. She challenged students to consider how they would react to scenarios that she had personally faced, which made for some great discussion during the networking part of the event.

All the students have been given their VR headsets and access to the skills development app.

The next skills event titled 'What is Impact and How is Impact Defined and Achieved?' will be held in November. This will be led by Shelly-Ann Gajadhar who will be supported by George Mackintosh. will also be calling in from Canada.
